I build systems from the ground up — the interview with the people who will use it, the database schema underneath it, the code, the deployment, and the years of support after. Twenty-three years of it, from permit counters and trading platforms to the industrial test platform I architect today at Atlas Copco.
A test and telemetry platform for engineers running machines on the bench. Sensors are wired through OPC servers; MBECAT reads and writes those servers, monitors thousands of nodes at once, visualises what they're doing in real time, and logs everything for analysis afterwards. Engineers drive it with Python — they write their own read/write logic and test routines against live plant data rather than waiting on a developer.
I'm its architect. This is the clearest example of what I mean by building from the ground up: a protocol integration, a scripting host, a real-time visualisation surface and a logging pipeline, designed as one system for people whose day job is engineering, not software.
Every system below started as a blank page. The pattern has been the same for twenty-three years: sit with the people doing the work, write down what they actually do, turn that into a schema and a specification, build it, prove it, ship it, and then keep it alive in production.

I've been building software systems — writing code, testing, debugging, designing interfaces, designing database schemas, tuning performance, creating bugs, fixing bugs, deploying, maintaining, estimating, and talking to stakeholders — for over twenty years, solo and in teams. I've led the development of multiple projects and haven't had one fail. I've been programming since I was ten, and I still enjoy it.
